Madagascar Jangaria Travel respects your privacy. This page explains what data we collect on www.jangariatravel.com, why, who we share it with and how to exercise your rights.

2. What data do we collect?
We only collect the data needed for your request or your trip.

We never ask for bank details through the website form. Please do not send sensitive information (health, card number, etc.) through the form: if a medical need must be taken into account for your trip, we will discuss it with you directly.
3. Why do we use your data?

We do not use your data for marketing without your consent, and we never sell it.
4. Who has access to your data?
Your data is handled by the Madagascar Jangaria Travel team. It is only shared with the partners needed for your trip or for running the website:
- Your trip’s providers: airlines, hotels and lodges, guides, drivers, vehicle rental companies, only for the data they need for the booked service.
- o2switch (France): website hosting.
- Google: Google Analytics (website statistics), Google reCAPTCHA (form spam protection) and Gmail (receiving a copy of the requests sent through the form).
- Automattic (Jetpack, Akismet): visit statistics, spam filtering, image optimisation and backups.
- Wordfence: firewall and website security.
- WhatsApp (Meta): if you choose to write to us on WhatsApp.
We may also disclose data to the authorities when required by law.
5. Transfers outside Madagascar
Some of our technical providers are located outside Madagascar: in France (o2switch) and in the United States (Google, Automattic, Wordfence, Meta). These companies apply their own data protection safeguards, including the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies.
When you book a flight or a hotel abroad, your data is sent to the provider concerned, solely to carry out the booking.
6. How long do we keep your data?

After these periods, the data is deleted or anonymised.
7. Cookies and analytics
A cookie is a small file stored by your browser. Our website uses three kinds:

8. Security
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and protected by a firewall, a spam filter and regular backups. Only the agency staff handling your request can access your data. As no system is infallible, we will inform you if an incident affects your data.
9. Your rights
Under Malagasy Law No. 2014-038 on the protection of personal data and, if you live in the European Union, the GDPR, you may at any time:
- access your data and get a copy of it;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate;
- ask for it to be deleted;
- object to its use or ask for it to be restricted;
- receive the data you gave us (portability);
- withdraw your consent to analytics cookies.
To exercise these rights, write to contact@jangariatravel.com stating your request. We reply within one month at most.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Commission Malagasy de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CMIL) or with the data protection authority of your country of residence in the European Union.
10. Other information
External links. Our website links to WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Tripadvisor and Google Maps. These services have their own privacy policies, which we invite you to read.
Minors. Travel requests must be made by an adult. Data about children travelling with their family is used only for the booking.
Changes. We may update this policy, for example when we add a new service. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
